Mid-town boutique law firm specializing in Family Law is currently seeking an experienced Family Law Legal Assistant/Law Clerk. Office is a very supportive and cohesive group. Position is 1-1. 3 years experience in Family Law, plus good working knowledge of all Family Law Rules, Forms and court procedures, is needed. Proven ability to complete financial statement, briefs, confirmations, etc. Prepare factums, briefs and other documents for filing and service. Conduct preliminary consultation, liaise with clients, coordinate meetings. Liaise with opposing counsel. Salary commensurate with experience, to $45K. Plus Benefits.

Legal Assistant - English-Spanish-Portuguese

Major full-service law firm, near GO,  needs fully tri-lingual Legal Assistant with  English/Spanish/Portuguese fluency. 1-2 years legal experience needed but experience in a specific legal practice is not necessary. 1-2 years with a law firm AND AN INTEREST AND WILLINGNESS learn Corporate and Securities law is what’s required, along with your strong English, Spanish and Portuguese communication skills. Litigation Law Clerk – Enforcement Law

Long-term Contract

This 2-year Contract position requires in-depth legal Enforcement knowledge and experience (5-7 yrs). Position is with a highly-reputable, full-service downtown Toronto law firm. Full carriage of Enforcement files, such as statements, notices, issuance and service, sherrifs offices liaison, etc., document management and adherence to protocols fall within your perview and responsibility.
You will work closely with lawyer/litigation team on day-to-basis, but still maintain ability to work independently. 1300-1400 billable hours.
Advanced Summation proficiency a must. Word 2010. Flexibility with changing priorities, deadlines, etc. Salary commensurate with experience, $75K+

Junior Litigation Legal Assistant

2+ years litigation experience needed for this position in addition to working knowledge of Rules and general litigation practices and procedures.

 

Practice is a share (2-1) and  is civil litigation/real estate based. Includes professional liability, planning and municipal law, environmental law and expropriation. You will be responsible for organizing and expediting the workflow for 2 lawyers, initiating follow-up as needed, communicating with clients. You will be involved in drafting correspondence and organizing and maintaining the majority of client files. Docketing, billing, opening and closing files.

 

Position is well suited to someone who is proactive, able to work with minimum supervision, able to work within set guidelines but understands the need to be able to establish priorities. $40-45K.

AV/PC Network Administrator:

HR Generalist:

Reporting to Director of HR, your responsibilities will include support staff recruitment as well as supporting the HR team. A proven team player, you will liaise with all internal users and external resources, have a flexible attitude and be able to juggle priorities. Your HR functions and activities are diversified in this growth position. You will be responsible for sourcing qualified prospective employees for permanent positions within the firm, drafting/updating job descriptions and candidate profiles. You will liaise with external resources (recruitment companies), screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews, test and conduct reference checks, to provide recommendations for hire. You will participate and/or manage human resources activities and projects, manage the internal referral program and academic reimbursement program, coordinate new hires and the ‘buddy program’ for new hires as well as conduct follow-ups on new hire probations. You will make up monthly night staff and weekend schedules.

MINIMUM 2-3 years HR experience, preferably within services industry – law firm experience will be given preference. Undergrad degree/diploma in HR required. Excellent communication skills a must. Good knowledge of MS Office needed and familiarity with DMS/HRIS system definitely a plus. Some overtime will be required; therefore, flexible morning/evening schedule needed. $45K-$50K.
